it is best to be mindful of what is behind you in the background in general, the less distraction there is, the better if possible, elevate your camera to eye level or just above this can be done with a webcam, phone, or even a laptop by placing items below it to raise the height of the camera try to avoid an 'up the nose' angle! during the broadcast do your best to look directly into the camera while speaking this creates 'eye contact' with the viewers it's human nature to look at the image of the person that you are talking to, but that will show up on camera as you looking away with some practice speaking to the camera can become second nature setup tips for lighting lighting is one of the most important parts of looking great on camera here are some tips that will help in general, the larger the light source, the more 'soft' it will be, leading to a more pleasing look conversely, smaller light sources create 'hard' light with sharp shadows that tend to be less flattering direct, overhead light is typically less flattering than a large light source coming from the side a great place to set up is next to a window or other large light source in a pinch, a computer monitor set to a completely white screen can work as a light source setup tips for audio try to join the broadcast from a quiet area in order for you to have clear audio with no echos, a headset , earbuds , or wireless earphones like airpods are a great option setup connecting and setting your name before the show, our team will provide you with a link to join click this link and you will be taken to the broadcast studio if prompted to grant access to your camera and microphone, please select 'allow' in order for us to see and hear you selecting your camera and microphone be sure to select the correct camera and microphone if you have more than one available getting the best quality video if you have the option, select high definition in the camera resolution area this usually only applies to webcam users enter your display name use your full name or your name and title, or the name of your brand you will see a preview of how it will look as you enter it changing your name if you wish to change your display name after you join, click your name below your screen in the broadcast studio once you join, the host will be informed that you’ve arrived you won’t be part of the broadcast until the host decides to add you in the broadcast studio will update to let you know when you’ve been added at that point, everyone will be able to see and hear you ✨ this is your time to shine have fun!
